apple: Here’s when Apple may host its next big event of 2022 – Times of India

For the last two years, every Apple event has been a virtual affair. Most companies scrapped in-person event because of the ongoing pandemic. However, a tipster has now revealed that Apple’s next big event of 2022 will be an in-person event.
Jon Prosser, who has a mixed record when it comes to Apple-related leaks, has said that WWDC 2022 — Apple’s annual developer conference — will be held in front of a live audience. According to a report by Phonearena, Prosser has also claimed that WWDC 2022 could kick off from June 6.
Earlier this month, Google announced that its annual developer event I/O 2022 will be a virtual event. However, some members of Google team as well as partners will be a part of the live audience at I/O 2022.
As far as WWDC 2022 is concerned, it remains to be seen whether Apple does an online event only or open it for live audiences as well. The last in-person Apple event was in 2019 and since then all events have been virtual.
At WWDC 2022, Apple is expected to showcase new software updates for all its devices. iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS 13, watchOS 9 are all expected to be unveiled. However, Apple will just talk about the main features of the various OS updates and they are rolled out closer to the end the year sometime in September or October.
Whether it will be an in-person event or virtual is something we will get to know once Apple sends out official invites for WWDC 2022. Last year, WWDC was held from June 7-11 and Apple had sent out invites around March 30. So it is possible that the invites for WWDC might be sent out shortly. Or Apple could delay if it’s planning to host an in-person event.
